Cholmondeley Castle Gardens

Cholmondeley Castle Gardens

The Cholmondeley Family have lived on these lands since Norman times. The Castle, built in the early 19th Century by the first Marquis, proudly overlooks 70 acres of sumptuous gardens which display magnificent colour throughout the seasons.

You will discover the romantic Temple and Folly Water Gardens, Glade, Arboretum, ornamental woodland, Rose Garden and Lavinia Walk, a 100m long double herbaceous border which is dedicated to Lady Lavinia and continues her legacy within the heart of the garden.

The garden is home to fine collections of Magnolias, Camellias, Rhododendrons and Roses. Through the seasons the meadows change from Daffodils to Bluebells and Wild Orchids. Wander the historic Parkland to visit St Nicholas Family Chapel to admire its stained glass alter window and ornate panelling, and walk around the Deer Park Mere nature trail to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and wildlife.

Enjoy lunch in our tea room which serves a range of speciality teas, homemade cakes and light lunches.

Please visit in-line with current restrictions, and check their website before visiting to ensure they are open.
