Imagine travelling through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery behind a steam engine. Return tickets are available, or if you want to hop on and off throughout the day, you can buy an All Day Rover ticket.

A host of historical delights awaits en route. Luxuriate in the comfort and style of a bygone era of travel. Experience the thrill of getting up close to a working steam locomotive. You can even learn about the history and science of the industrial age in the museum at the Sheffield Park station.

Book on the right day and you’ll find yourself on board a dining train, offering afternoon tea, silver service dining, supper specials or rail ale evenings (see website for dates). There’s also a lively events calendar, including visiting engines and fun days for families – kids with a teddy travel free on bank holidays.
